Anyone observing the Senate health care debate this week could be forgiven for thinking it had turned into a preschool playgroup.

It’s not often that as a community we get to be part of an extra special holiday giving moment, worthy of Hollywood. That’s how the Triple Money Monday drive for the Livingston County United Way feels.

I sat in Congressman Mike Rogers' office in the Cannon House office building in Washington DC, and it all kind of came into perspective. Here I am, a guy who is generally completely lost when it comes to politics. At social gatherings, I'm the guy who finds his way in to the other room, to find anything to talk about.  Anything at all. What's that? You wanna talk about foot fungus? I'm in. The mating habits of your pet parakeet? I've got some input on that.

I.  Hate.  Politics.
